Mrs. Marie Trost, 83, a former South Bend resident, died at 2am Saturday in Joplin MO. She was ill a short time.
She was born on April 26, 1896, in Kalamazoo, and lived a number of years in South Bend before moving first to California and then to Joplin. Her husband, William H. Trost Jr, died in 1977. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothea Purdy of Joplin, and Mrs. Mary Merriman of North Ridge CA; two sons, Edwin of Manhattan Beach CA and Robert of Orlando FL; eight grandchildren; a great great grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Wilmetta McKinney of New Carlisle and Mrs. Marcella Lentz of Springhill FL
She was a member of the Progress Club in South Bend and the Order of Eastern Star. Friends may call from noon to 2:30pm Wednesday in the Forest G Hay Funeral Home, 435 S Ironwood, followed by graveside services at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, to be conducted by Rev. Daniel Berger, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church
