Lewis Trefun, 60, of 1513 E. Donald St., died at 7:25 p.m.
Thursday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a
shop supervisor for Allied Products, where he was employed for 10
years. Born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Madison, Ill., he had lived in
South Bend most of his life. On June 12, 1948, in South Bend, he
married Peggy C. Sharpless, who died Oct. 10, 1983. Surviving are
a daughter, Mrs. John (Carolyn) Hodgson of Bishop, Calif.; two
sons, Michael of Palm Springs, Calif., and Patrick of South Bend;
a grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Obradovich of Tucson, Ariz.,
and Mrs. Olga Keyser of Bremen; and a brother, Walter of South
Bend. Two brothers, Stanley and William, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral
Home, 521 N. William, where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m.
Sunday. Rev. Robert Heckman, pastor of Lydick United Methodist
Church, and Rev. Robert Coberly, of the pastoral care services at
Memorial Hospital, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland
Cemetery. He was a World War II veteran serving with the Navy.
