MISHAWAKA - Phyllis Ann Toth, 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, in Memorial Hospital , South Bend . Phyllis was born in South Bend on May 30, 1929 as the daughter of the now late Edward and Stella (Clarey) Livers. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters Dorothy Lind, Mary Ruth Seago and Barbara Jean Rich; a brother Martin Livers and by two infant brothers. On June 11, 1949 in St. Matthew Catholic Church, South Bend as Phyllis A. Lyvers she married Louis Toth. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Louis; two daughters, Pamela McDougald of Reseda, CA and Patricia (Blake) Hobson of Newark, OH; five sons, Barry (Cherrie) Toth of South Bend, Bryan Toth of Granger, Martin (Teri) Toth of Mishawaka, Kevin (Sharon) Toth of Mishawaka and Eric (Tricia) Toth of Mishawaka; 18 grandchildren, James and Julian McDougald, David, Justin, Brian, Taylor and Kathryn Jasiewicz, Jason, Joshua, Matthew, Rachael, Ryan, Alex, Kyle, Chelsea, Nick, Adam and Ian Toth. Three of Phyllis' grandchildren are serving in the United States Military, brothers Jason, Joshua and Matthew, with Jason and Matthew serving over in Iraq . Phyllis was a loving, caring and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a graduate of Riley High School, a member of the Circle at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She was a member of the Elks Bowling League in South Bend and also enjoyed golfing. She was an accomplished oil and water color artist. Phyllis will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Visitation for family and friends will be Today, Friday, December 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street , Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 2:00 p.m. in Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Scheidt officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka . In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Phyllis' name to Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st St. Ste 100 , Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
