SOUTH BEND - Robert W. Tooley, 78, passed away at 4:30
a.m. on Monday, November 3, in Inwood Hills Assisted Living
Center. Robert was born March 31, 1930 in Wayne, MI, to the late
Leon and Dorothy (Tracy) Tooley. On March 3, 1953, Robert
married Joann (Harvey) and she passed away on September 5,
1991. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald. He is
survived by daughters, Coleen (Matt) Fyfe of Phoenix, AZ,
Lynn (Chuck) Stenberg of Elkhart, IN, Diane (Ron) Molnar
of Osceola, IN, Ellen (Steve) Rosebrock of Cicero, IN;
long time companion and friend, Sylvia Langley of South
Bend; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother,
Richard (Kaye) Tooley of Onekama, MI. Robert was a mechanical
engineer at A.M. General as well as Dodge Manufacturing and a
member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge.
A time for sharing fond memories will be held on Saturday, November 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Christina Creek Elks Lodge 425, 116 W. Bristol St., Elkhart, IN 46514. St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
