Richard R. Tompkins, 43, of 55680 Meadowview, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday at his home after a sudden illness. He was employed by the Mastic Corp. as a forklift operator for seven years and was a part-time meat cutter. He was born on May 29, 1935 in South Bend and had lived here all his life. On Sept. 4, 1954 in South Bend he married Bernice Kahlmorgan who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cynthia Golubski of South Bend and Candyce at home and a son Christopher, at home. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Kaniewski Funeral Home. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 58 and Holy Family Catholic Church.
