Obituary of Joyce L. Tompkins 

Oct. 1, 1927-April 28, 1992  

Joyce L. Tompkins, 64, of Myrtle Road, died at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1927, in South Bend. On Jan. 10, 1948, in South Bend, she married Ervin J. Tompkins. He survives with two daughters, Marlene K. Spidel and Julie M. Tompkins, both of South Bend; a son, Michael E. of South Bend; two sisters, Marilyn Mountjoy of Catlett, Va., and Carol Jean Tisdale of South Bend; and a brother Ronald D. Buck of Osceola. Mrs. Tompkins was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and The South Bend Area Genealogy Society.     Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
