Services for Sister M. Ann Joachim Tierney CSC, 86, of Saint Mary’s Convent, who died at 7 p.m. Saturday in the convent, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call until services in St. Mary’s Convent Parlors, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. today.

Sister Tierney was born March 24, 1902 in New Quay, County Clare, Ireland. She is survived by a sister, Sister Mildred Tierney of Syracuse, NY. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s, Oct. 9, 1928, coming from Ireland. She was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1929, and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1931. She was assigned to teaching and served at Holy Cross School from 1932 to 1934, and also taught in Pennsylvania, Illinois and California.
