SOUTH BEND - Emma Frances Tidaback, 93, of South Bend, Indiana, and a longtime resident of Chesterton, IN, and Dunedin, FL, passed away on Friday, August 28th, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on December 2, 1915, in Springfield, IL, to the late Mary O'Day (Fishback) and John H. Hewins. On April 13, 1941, in Porter, IN, as Emma Frances Hewins, she married Everett L. Tidaback, who preceded her in death on October 14, 1989. They were married for 48 years. Frances is survived by a daughter, Leslie (Charles Hilmer) Tidaback-Hilmer of Stevensville, MI; four sons, David (Mary Buss) Tidaback of St. Paul, MN, Daniel Tidaback of Dunedin, FL, Andrew Tidaback of Eugene, OR, and Darrel (Laurel Thomas) Tidaback of South Bend. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Paul Tidaback, Ashen (Jason) Stafford, Aran (Angela Tidaback-Chacon) Tidaback, Jesse Tidaback, Gene Tidaback, Willow Thomas, Christina (Philip) Poole and Danielle (Adam) Brown; and 12 great-grandchildren, Maddison, Tanna, Jadon, Bailey, Miah, Chillis, Jasmine, Steven, Zachary, Alexander, Enola and Nevin. Frances was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of The Kirk in Dunedin, FL, and attended First United Methodist Church in South Bend. A memorial service for Frances will be held at 1 p.m. today, August 30th, in First United Methodist Church, 333 N. Main St., South Bend, IN. There will be no visitation. Frances will be sadly and greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched. The Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend, assisted the family with arrangements.
