GRANGER - David L. Thuot, 78, of Largo, FL, formerly of
Granger, passed away in his home in Florida on November 6, 2008.
He was born April 4, 1930, in South Bend, to the late David L.
and Mary (Chiszar) Thuot. He married Alberta R. Miller
in Phoenix, AZ, in 1960. She preceded him in death April 27,
1998. Mr. Thuot is survived by two stepdaughters, Susan K. Fordyce
of Wichita, KS, and Sharon A. Hogle of Mishawaka, IN;
stepson, Pete L. (Janet) Miller of Granger, IN; and a brother,
Robert (Mary) Thuot of South Bend, IN. Twelve grandchildren and
eighteen great-grandchildren also survive him. Mr. Thuot was
preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sandra R. Gast of
Phoenix, AZ, and stepson, David A. Miller of Portland, OR. He was
previously employed and retired from Wheel Horse in South Bend.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr.
Thuot was a life member of American Legion Post 10094 in Florida.
Cremation has taken place. Memorials and military services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2008, at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society,
601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family with local arrangements.
