Stanley T. Thrasher Jan. 2, 1941 - April 22, 2006   

Stanley T. "Ted" Thrasher, 65, of Lincoln Way East, South Bend, passed away in his home on April 22, 2006. Stanley was born in South Bend, IN, on January 2, 1941.   

Stanley married the love of his life, the former Avis Morey, on May 31, 1960, in St. Joseph, MI. She survives along with two daughters, Michelle M. Thrasher and Sherry A. Thrasher of South Bend;  and a son, Michael M. Thrasher of South Bend.    

Stanley is also survived by his mother, Aretta (Thrasher) Wade of South Bend; a brother, William Thrasher of Bunker Hill, IN; and a sister Patricia Bell of South Bend.   

Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Stanley A. Thrasher; a sister, Marylyn Thrasher; and his stepfather Robert Wade.   

Stanley graduated for South Bend Central High School in 1960.  He was a member of the Central High Alumni Band. He was also a member of the 1958 and 1959 state football championship teams.   

On April 19, 2006 Stanley retired form A. M. General with 40 years of service. His last jos was a tool crib operator for the H1 and Humvee plants. Stan was a member of U.A.W. Local #5. He was aslo retired from the University of Notre Dame stadium as an usher captain for the wheelchair section. He enjoyed collecting anything dealing with Hummers and was an avid Notre Dame fan, attending all the home games he could after he retired from the stadium in 1997.   

Stanley will be dearly missed by all his family and firends.   

Visitation for Stanley will be Friday, April 28, 2006, in the Cobb Funeral Home, where family and friends may call from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 South Michigan Street, at 10 a.m. Saturday April 29, 2006. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
