Arthur J. Thompson

February 20, 1905 – April 26, 1982

Arthur J. Thompson, 77, of 51116 Lilac Road, died at 11:27pm Monday in his home.  He was supervisor in the neckwear department at Wilson Brothers for 25 years, and was later employed with South Bend Range for 12 years, retiring in 1972.

He was born on February 20, 1905, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident.  On June 30, 1934, in South Bend he married Henrietta V. Stachowski, who survives.  Other survivors are a son, Arthur J. of Hickory Corners MI; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Irene T. Sibret of South Bend.

Services will be at 10am Thursday in Christ the King Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Fey, CSC, officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30pm.  He was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church, was a WW II Air Force veteran, a member of the DAV, Century Center Volunteers and Dib and Delve Club.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund
