SOUTH BEND - Donald
E. Thomas, 60, of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, died at 1:20
a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr.
Thomas was a former waiter in Detroit. He was born May 24, 1933,
in South Bend, and lived in South Bend most of his life. He is
survived by a daughter, Daphine Thomas of Detroit; a son, David
of Detroit; two grandchildren; a stepmother, Mary Alice Thomas of
South Bend; and five brothers, David M. Jr. of Springfield, Mass.,
Charles B., and Richard C., both of South Bend, Merlin ''Pat'' of
Forest Park, Ohio, and Robert K. of Gahanna, Ohio.
There will be no
services or visitation. Cremation will take place. Welsheimer
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
