William L. Taylor, 66, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2001, in his residence. Mr. Taylor was born on November 4, 1934, in Elkhart, IN. He retired from the Grand Trunk Railroad and the South Bend Tribune.

In August 1954, he married Ruth A. Noens, who preceded him in death on April 26, 1996. Surviving are his children, Cynthia L. (Charles) Roach of South Bend, IN, Leigh Ann (Ronnie) Smith of South Bend, IN, Gregory L. Taylor of South Bend, IN, Gary L. (Robyn) Taylor of Phoenix, AZ, Ray B. Taylor of South Bend, IN; seven grandchildren, Brook L. Walker, Charles L. Roach, Augusta C. Taylor, Joseph R. Taylor, Clinton L. Roach, Kaleigh N. Taylor, William B. Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Garrett J. Nugent, Kalen A. Nugent; three sisters, Dolores Lauren of Nappanee, IN, Delois Linn of Elkhart, Ester Ann (Ronnie) Kent of Elkhart; and three brothers, Robert Taylor of Elkhart, IN, James (Sharon) Taylor of Elkhart, IN, and Wilbur (Linda) Taylor of Fort Wayne, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2001, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, with Rev. Scott Distler officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Terre Coupe Lodge #204 F.&A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
