LAKEVILLE - Leo D. Taylor, 74, of Quinn Road, died at 10:50 p.m. Friday at his home after an illness. Mr. Taylor retired in 1979 as an ironworker for H.G. Christman, South Bend. He was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Lakeville and was a lifelong area resident.

 

On Aug. 9, 1947, in South Bend, he married Mary E. Rhea. She survives with a daughter, Linda K. Whary of State College, Pa.; a son, Larry I. of North Liberty; four grandchildren; and a sister, Opal Taylor of Mishawaka. He was a member of American Legion Post 363, 40 & 8 Club of American Legion, and Ironworkers Local 292, South Bend. He was a World War II Army veteran.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or American Cancer Society.
