SOUTH BEND – Julius A. Takacs, 91, of Healthwin Hospital and Nursing Home, died at 3:25pm Sunday in the nursing home.  Mrs. Takacs retired in 1963 form Studebaker Corp. 

He was born January 28, 1902, in Bodrog-Kisfalud Zemplen Megye, Hungary, and lived in South Bend since 1911, coming from Hungary.  On January 15, 1924, in South Bend, he married Mary Kerekes.  She survives, with two daughters, Louise Rzeszewski of South Bend and Lillian Sherwood of Plymouth; a son, Julius E. of Needles CA; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen J. Drout of South Bend.  A son, Jack, died December 3, 1993.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Cremation will take place.  There will be no visitation.  Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Center for the Homeless or Healthwin Hospital and Nursing Home.
