MISHAWAKA - Anna Spite, 79, of East
Mishawaka Avenue, died at 6:30 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Medical
Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mrs. Spite retired in 1976
from the University of Notre Dame after 10 years of service. She
was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Lebanon and lived in Mishawaka since
1929, coming from Lebanon.
On July 29, 1933, in Mishawaka, as Anna Mickels,
she married John Spite. He died Sept. 6, 1978. She is survived by
three daughters, JoAnn M. Stewart of South Bend, Nancy L. Wright
of Mishawaka and Betty Ann Runyon of Osceola; three sons,
John E. and Andy J., both of Mishawaka, and George T. of
Cincinnati; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A son,
Michael L., died in 1991.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in
Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the
funeral home.
