South Bend Tribune, Local Obituary; July 5, 1952

Mrs. Cecelia A. Soos, 1989 Prairie avenue, died at 1:10 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of two weeks. Born March 12, 1891, in Hungary, she came to South Bend in 1905. She was proprietress of the Palm steak house, 1989 Prairie avenue. Surviving are her husband, Bela, whom she married Oct. 2, 1909; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph C. Solzan, 418 East Atlgeld street; a son, Roland William Soos, 1989 Prairie avenue, and a grandson. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John Horvath, South Bend, and Mrs. Michael Kiss, Moline, Ill. Friends may call in the Ellsasser and Ballard funeral home in Mishawaka, after 4 p.m. today. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Walter J. Bridges, of First Baptist church officiating. Interment will be in Highland cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Horvath, Joseph Sipotz, Steve Kompar, Steve Steh, Louis Szabo and Charles Aulm.

 

Note:  According to marriage applications, Cecilia is daughter to Joseph Szabo and Rosa Varga; her husband, Bela, born as Adalbert Soos on April 15, 1888, is son to John Soos and Rosa Nemes.
