NORTH LIBERTY - James J. "Tobe" Solmos, 72, of
30135 New Rd., passed away in his residence November 25, after a
short illness. He was a former employee of the Knecht Elevator
for many years. He was born July 5, 1936 in South Bend and was a
resident of North Liberty most of his life. He is survived by a
daughter, Kristi D. (Troy) of Wyatte, IN; sons, Kevin W. of
Nappanee, Brad D. (Wendy) of Bremen and Timothy J. (Lonnie) of
Pleasant Prairie, WI; a sister, Helen Hay and brother,
Richard J. (Boots) of South Bend and eight grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a sister, Joanne "Dolly" Davis
and brothers, Steven and Robert. Mr. Solmos was a veteran of the
US Army and a member of the VFW Post 1954 and American Legion
Post 365 in North Liberty.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty.
