Clem J. Sobieralski, 77, of South
Warren Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:50 p.m. on Monday,
March 20, in his home. He was born on May 9, 1922, in South Bend,
and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Sobieralski retired from
the A.M. General Corporation after 35 years of service. He was
preceded in death by a sister, Lucille O'Chap.
On April 17, 1948, in South Bend, he married
Dolores Rys, who survives. He is also survived by a
daughter, Linda (Ed) Thomas of Fremont, Mich.; a son,
Chris (Lori) Sobieralski of South Bend; two grandsons, Andrew
(Julie) Thomas of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jeremy (Sarah) Thomas
of Lansing, Mich.; a great-grandson, Caleb Thomas; and by a
sister, Esther Borowski of South Bend; and by two
brothers, Leo Sobieralski and Richard Sobieralski, both of South
Bend.
Mr. Sobieralski was a Navy veteran of World
War II, a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #3194, St.
Joseph Young Men's Society, UAW Local #5, and St. Adalbert
Catholic Church.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, March 22, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
