Rose Lucille Snyder

South Bend, IN -- Rose Lucille Snyder, 78, residing on East Tasher Street, South Bend, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Snyder was born on July 11, 1927, in Baugo Township, Elkhart Co., IN, to the late Lee Otis and Kathryn (Bunn) Logan. She had been a lifelong area resident.

 

On June 15, 1945, in Osceola, she married Howard W. Snyder, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1993. One grandchild, Taylor Shreve, one sister, JoAnn Combs, and three brothers, Lee Otis Jr., James and Bruce Logan, all preceded her in death.

 

Mrs. Snyder enjoyed her time as the district director of the Campfire for 10 years. She was a member of the Southlawn United Methodist Church, and a graduate of Mishawaka High School where she was an active member of the alumni. Mrs. Snyder enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, painting and calligraphy. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Snyder enjoyed spreading good will among friends.

 

Mrs. Snyder is survived by two daughters, Diana (Henry) Ganser-Brandt of Granger and Deborah Shreve of South Bend; five grandchildren, Ronald (Karen Charles) Kronewitter of Mesa, AZ, Jason (Rachael) Ganser of Granger, Bethany Ganser of South Bend, Zach (Ashley Wakeland) Shreve of Mishawaka and Benjamin Shreve of South Bend; 2 1/2 great-grandchildren, Griffin Herner and Dominic Ganser, and one soon-to-be, Wenlan Rose Charles-Kronewitter; and by a sister, Leona Dallas of Nappanee.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2005, in the Southlawn United Methodist Church, South Bend. Rev. Ronald Dixon will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, August 25, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, and one hour prior to services in the church on Friday. Contributions in memory of Rose L. Snyder may be donated to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637; or to the American Heart Association, 2410 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
