SOUTH BEND- Grace J. (Van Driessche) Sniadecki, 73, passed away in her home on Sunday morning surrounded by loved ones. Grace was born on April 10, 1935, to the late Peter and Margaret (Maenhout) Van Driessche in Mishawaka. On August 20, 1960, she married the love of her life, Joseph L. Sniadecki at St. Bavo's Catholic Church in Mishawaka, IN. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; her daughter, Patricia (Ron) Fimbel, and a son, David (Bonnie) Sniadecki; seven grandchildren, Shane (Mindi) Fimbel, Shannon (James) Abercrombie, Mike Sniadecki, Josh Sniadecki, Shea (Greg) Lee, Nicole Sniadecki and Sarah (Mike) Bowser; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don (Barbara) Van Driessche, Gerald (Rhetta) Van Driessche and Paul (Gwen) Van Driessche; and five sisters, Harriett Vollmer, Helen (Robert) Coleman, Ruth Walkowski, Catherine (David) Smith and Lou (Charles) Weisweaver. Two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death, Dorothy Vervynckt, Lillian, George, Harry, John and Raymond Van Driessche. Grace was an active member of the BK Club of Mishawaka, TOPS, St. John the Baptist Rosary Society, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In addition to being the rock of her family, she was an avid card player often playing for hours with her sisters, children and grandchildren. Always the optimist, Grace will be remembered for her ability to smile through any storm, love her family with all of her heart, and her unwavering belief that there is good in everyone. She will forever be in our hearts and missed deeply.

 

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 14, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 36526 St. John Way, South Bend, IN 46628.
