William Smith

The venerable William Smith, uncle of Mr. George W. Reeder, principal  of
Jefferson school, died last night at 8:30 o'clock at his farm residence, a  short
distance beyond the city limits on the LaPorte Road. He had been in  failing
health for some time, and suffered greatly from cancer in the stomach.  The
funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock at the residence, 
Rev. N. D. Williamson officiating. The remains will be interred in the city 
cemetery.
