Martin H. Smith
Martin H. Smith, a pioneer resident of St. Joseph county, died at his
home 1312 Michigan avenue, last night after an illness of eight weeks with
heart disease. Mr. Smith was born in this county and had spent his entire
life here. He was nearly 69 years old. Besides his wife he leaves
four children, Charles G. and Scott, Anna V. and Edna B. Smith, all of this
city. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Mt.
Pleasant chapel, Rev. W. F. Hovis officiating. The remains will be laid
to rest in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
