Levi Andrew Smith

 

   Levi Andrew Smith, aged 78, of Quinn road, North Liberty, died at 1:30 p. m. Monday in his home after an illness of two weeks following a stroke of paralysis.

   He was born in Union township, St. Joseph county, on August 30, 1865, and had spent his life in this vicinity.   His marriage to Mary Ellen McEndarfer took place October 28, 1894 in this county.  He was a farmer.

   Surviving are his widow; two sons, Leo L. and Clarence E. rural route No. 1, South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Elva L. Naragon and Mrs Florence E. McClain, of South Bend; five sisters, Mrs Nettie Madison, Mrs Emma Williams, Mrs. Ella Arnold and Mrs. Arilla Haid, South Bend, and Mrs. Cora Neidlinger, Plymouth; a brother, Elmer, South Bend; and six grand-children.

   Funeral services were held in the home at 2 p. m. Thursday, Rev. Emerson Frederick, of the Olive Branch United Brethren church, officiating.  Burial was in Westlawn cemetery, North Liberty.
