SOUTH BEND - Elbert Owen Smith, 83, of Avilla, IN, formerly of South Bend, passed away May 15, 2010, at Your Friends & Neighbors Group Home. He was born in South Bend to the late Elbert Owen Sr. and Mable Edith Meyers Smith. Surviving is a sister, Sara McIndoe of Ft. Meyers, FL. A graveside service and interment will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, May 28th, in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. McGann Hay Funeral Homes is in charge.
