David Smith

David Smith age 69, a retired grocer of 1608 Leer St. died at 8:30 a.m. 
today in his residence after an illness of several years. He was born in Poland 
and came here 50 years ago. In 1907 in Chicago he married Ida Suloway, who 
survives. Other survivors are four children Theodore, Mrs. Sylvia Berbebitsky 
and Irving all of South Bend and Melvin of Indianapolis, two grandchildren and 
two brothers, Philip of South Bend and Clifford of Atlanta, Georgia. Funeral 
services were to be conducted at 4 p.m. today in the Hay Funeral Home by Rabbi
Harry Z. Scheetman. Burial was to be in the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery in 
Mishawaka.
