Albert K. Smith,
66, of 54549 Longwood Dr., died at 6:15am today in Memorial Hospital
after a month’s illness. He retired in 1969 from the
Bendix Corp where he had been employed 33 years.
He was born on December
6, 1906, in Crumstown. On July 2, 1957, he married Sarah
Mae Haas, who survives, along with a son, Alfred of South Bend;
two stepsons, Dewayne Ranstead of South Bend and Terry Ranstead
of Alexandria VA; two step daughters, Mrs. Sharon Voss of
Buchanan, and Mrs. Elaine Williams of South Bend; 18
grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbur of
Mishawaka, and John os Sarasota FL and two sisters, Mrs. Mary
McNabb of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Katherine Ward of South Bend
Friends may call
form 7 to 9pm Saturday and 2 to 9pm Sunday in the Hickey Funeral
Home, 2702 Lincoln Way W. Mrs. Smith was a member of Lodge
435, Eagles, the Bendix Oldtimer’s Club and the Cowboys
Club.
