SOUTH BEND - Raymond E. Sly, 53, of South Bend, formerly of Union Mills, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010. He was born June 12, 1956, in LaPorte, to Edgar and Charlotte (Stephens) Sly. Ray is survived by his parents of Union Mills; his children, Michelle (Roger) Hefright of LaPorte, Amanda, Alysha and Edward Sly, all of Valparaiso; two grandchildren; his brother, William Sly of Hanna; and his sisters, Barbara Bernethy of Michigan City and Rita Ann Westlund of Westville. Ray was a truck driver for U.S.F Trucking and a member of the Teamsters Union, ABATE, and Sons of the American Legion. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 3rd, in the Newhard Funeral Home, Westville. Pastor John Beehler will officiate. Burial will be at Union Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services in the funeral home.
