John David Sims

MISHAWAKA - John David Sims, 37, of Mishawaka, passed away
in his residence on February 13. John was born on September 29,
1969, in Mishawaka, as the son of Joseph P. and Virginia (Daniel)
Sims, who was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving John
are a sister, Suzanne Marie Sims of Fort Wayne; two brothers,
Joseph Paul Sims of Mishawaka and James Gerald "Jerry"
Sims of South Bend; two half brothers, Ken and Robbie Avants of
Jefferson, Arkansas; six nieces and nephews, and eight
great-nieces and nephews.
John was a graduate of Mishawaka High School where he was on the swim team, diving team and was a member of the marching band. He was an IU basketball fan and a Dodger's fan. John was a great-uncle to all of his nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., with visitation
one hour prior on Saturday, February 24, in the Hahn Funeral
Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Erv Mize
officiating.
