Norbert L. Simonis

Dec. 12, 1927 - March 19, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Norbert L. ''Slim'' Simonis, 70, of Hollywood Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, March 19, in the Hospice House.

Mr. Simonis was born on Dec. 12, 1927, in South Bend, and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area.

On June 11, 1960, in Niles, Mich., he married Patsy Ann Karns, who survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, LuAnne (Douglas) Thompson of South Bend; and by three sisters, Esther Beke and Leona Albano, both of South Bend, and Gertrude Miller of Alabama.

Mr. Simonis retired in 1990 from the AM General Corporation in South Bend. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country with pride.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Hanley & Sons ''Southwest Chapel'' Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23. Private burial will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph County Hospice or to the New Military Honor Park, 4302 Lathrop Drive, South Bend, IN 46628.
