Michele Signorino

MISHAWAKA - Michele ''Mike'' Signorino, 77, of East Third Street, died at 7:06 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Signorino retired in 1979 from Wheelabrator-Frye Corp. after 20 years of service. He was born Nov. 10, 1916, in Marsala, Sicily, and lived in Mishawaka most of his life.

 

On Aug. 7, 1937, in Mishawaka, he married Patricia Johnson. She survives with two daughters, Loralee Courtney and Liane Signorino, both of Elkhart; two sons, Michele ''Slug'' of Michigan City and Christopher of Bay Village, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary VanGooteghen and Frances Steed, both of Mishawaka; and three brothers, Gasper of South Bend, and Joseph and Christopher A., both of Mishawaka. A son, Danny, died Nov. 1, 1955.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call two hours before services Sunday in the funeral home.

 

Editor: His sister Mary is actually Mary VanOoteghen. He was the son of Rosario Signorino and Lora Agati.
