Genevieve Ruth Sieg

Genevieve Ruth Sieg, 83, passed away following an extended illness at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4 in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a life long area resident, most recently of Jamestown Homes of Mishawaka. Mrs. Sieg was born on Sept. 2, 1915 to Joseph and Mayme (Humphrey) Bueche who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Bueche and Louis Bueche.

 

On Oct. 24, 1936 she was married to Louis J. Sieg, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Donald (Pamela) Sieg of South Bend and David (Margaret) Sieg of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren, Lora Sieg of Lansing, Mich. and Jeffrey Sieg of Edwardsburg, Mich.; three step-grandsons, Donald Hearn and William Hearn of Orlando, Fla., and Robert Hearn of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Agnes Long of Edenton, N.C., and Mary Hahaj of South Bend.

 

Mrs. Sieg was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and a former member of the Saint Joseph's Medical Center Auxiliary. During her 25 years with the Auxiliary she accumulated over 10,000 hours of volunteer service.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. A luncheon for all guests will follow the service at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Anthony Parish Building Fund. McGann Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
