SOUTH BEND - Betty June Shirrell, 77,
of Valley View Nursing Home, Elkhart, formerly of South Bend,
died at 2:25 a.m. Thursday in the nursing home. Mrs. Shirrell was
born June 6, 1918, in Delta, Ohio, and lived in South Bend since
1952.
On Dec. 27, 1941, in Niles, as Betty J.
Holloway, she married Reid H. Shirrell. He died Aug. 8, 1991. She
is survived by two daughters, Lucinda Ullery of South Bend
and Lisa L. Paul of Indianapolis; a son, John R. of
Granger; three grandchildren; and five sisters, Marie McLauchlin,
Charlene Parker and Jacqueline Womack, all of
Niles, Mary Elinor Dhabolt of Dallas, and Olive Mae Camp
of Buchanan. She was a member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church
and former member of Morris Park Country Club.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in
Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial
