South Bend - Mrs. Florine K. Shirk, 77, of the Melrose Manor Nursing Home, Mishawaka, formerly of 13  Longfellow, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday in the nursing home, after an illness of 2 ½ years.

She was born in Mishawaka, June 30, 1898 and had lived in this area all her life.

As Florine K. Marsh she married Dallas A. Shirk in Mishawaka June 28, 1928. He died in 1963.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Thomas Hameline of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend. Rev. Henry Zych assistant pastor will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mishawaka.
