Jan. 20, 1906 -- June 11, 2004

Margaret Sherry, 98, of North Merrifield Avenue, passed away at 11:23 p.m. Friday, June 11, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Ind.

She was born in Mishawaka, on Jan. 20, 1906, and was a lifelong area resident.

Margaret worked for Dodge Manufacturing as the payroll clerk until she retired in 1968. She was a member of the Cedar Road Missionary Church.

As Margaret Shaffer, she married Ralph W. Sherry in South Bend, on Aug. 12, 1926. He passed away in 1969. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Camby and Elizabeth Shaffer; three sisters, Catherine Juneman, Leona Wachs and Bertha Zimmerman; and one brother, Alfred Shaffer.

Surviving is one son, Dale (Charlene) Sherry of Mishawaka; and one daughter, Patricia (Scott) Welford of St. George, Utah; one sister, Marian Burkhart of Pinellas Park, Fla. She also leaves three Sherry grandsons, Thomas, Jon and Robert; and seven Sherry great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Megan, Geoffrey and Victoria of Goshen, Ind., and Alicia, Kayla and Austin of South Bend. Along with three Johnson grandsons, Craige of Mishawaka, Phillip of Mishawaka and Jeffrey of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four Johnson great-grandchildren, Rachel, Timothy, Wesley and Ashley, of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15. Visitation will be two hours prior in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be at City Cemetery Mishawaka.
