MISHAWAKA - Robert R. Riggs, 83, passed away on Monday,
April 7th, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
Robert was born on April 28, 1924, in Kokomo, IN, as the son of
Leonard and Josephine (Hoover) Riggs. He was preceded in
death by his parents.
Surviving are his daughter, Elaine (Gary) Battles
of Mishawaka; a son, David (Jill) Riggs of Granger; four
grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jo (Morris) Tilley of
Kokomo, IN; and a half brother, Charles (Meribeth) Durr of
Brooksville, FL. Robert was an engineer at Honeywell for 35 years
before he retired. He was a 1950 graduate of Purdue University
with a B.S. in engineering mechanics and was a United States Navy
veteran.
Family and friends may visit on Friday,
April 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W.
8th Street, Mishawaka. A private family graveside service will be
held on Saturday, April 19, in Kokomo, IN. Robert's family would
like to thank the doctors at Midwest Cardiovascular Specialists,
Nephrology Inc., and all of his caregivers at the Saint Joseph
Regional Medical Center, South Bend. The family requests that, in
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American
Heart Association/American
