SOUTH BEND - Mary M. Dunning Riddle, 88, of Sanctuary of
Holy Cross, formerly of Hollywood Place, South Bend, died on
Monday morning. Mary was a mother, housewife, restaurant owner
and servant of the Lord. She was born July 17, 1920, in
Logansport, IN, to Frank and Elva (Parmeter) Shaffer.
She was married to Henry Dunning, who died in 1982.
Surviving are a daughter, Caroline Bolin; a son, Paul Riddle,
both of South Bend; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Blanch and Betty
Roller, Joella and Norma Shaffer, preceded her in
death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday. Mary was a member of the American Legion and the Women's Business Association.
