MISHAWAKA - Mary F. Richards, 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, in Hubbard Hills Estates, Elkhart, after an illness. Mary was born on October 14, 1920, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of Peter D. and Clementine (Doens) DeLaruelle. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.

On October 10, 1942, in Mishawaka, as the former Mary DeLaruelle, she married Ernest James Richards Sr., who preceded her in death on July 8, 1984. She is survived by two daughters, Nettie (Keith) Russell of Edwardsburg, MI and Deb (Andrew) Johnson of Elkhart; a son, Jim (Judy) Richards of Columbia City, IN; 11 grandchildren, Scott (Tara) Reinhardt of Mishawaka, Lonn (Patti) Reinhardt of Bremen, IN, Kirk (Brook) Richards of Mishawaka, Corey (Angee) Richards of Mishawaka and Amy (Chad) Harris of Columbia City, IN, Nicole (Ron) Belschner and Tony (Cheri) Johnson, both of Elkhart, Nathan (Carolyn) Johnson of Buffalo, NY. Brian (Jenni) Russell of Charlotte, NC, Sherri (Tom) Zuber of South Bend and Marcie Graham of Mishawaka; 35 great-grandchildren; and a sister Martha Nisley of Mishawaka. Mary was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, June 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where Wake prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Saturday, June 14 in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow in Osceola Cemetery, Osceola.
