Sister Mary
Renfrieda, CSC, 94, of St Mary’s Convent, died at 5pm
Wednesday in the convent after an extended illness.
She was born on September
20, 1877, in Wallen, Bohemia, and as Justina Weltlich, she
entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on September
29, 1904, coming from Bohema. She made her profession of
vows on August 15, 1907. Sister Mary Renfrieda served in several
hospital laundries in South Bend, Boise ID, and Salt Lake City,
including St Joseph’s Hospital in South Bend.
Friends may call
Thursday and Friday in the convent parlors, where a rosary will
be recited at 7:15pm Friday. Services will be at 11am
Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church. Burial will be in
Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
