J. Kenneth Reiter: (South Bend Tribune 2/21/1989)

J. Kenneth Reiter, 88, formerly of 2821 Locust Lane, died at 8:30 a.m. today in Greensprings Manor. Mr. Reiter retired in 1965 from South Bend Community School Corp. after 27 years of employment. He was born Aug. 7, 1900 in Cadillac, Mich., and had lived in South Bend most of his life. On June 30, 1924 in South Bend, he married Dorothy M. Burnham. She died April 28, 1986. He is survived by five daughters, Mary Louise Vanderbosch of San Jose Calif., Joan Cavanaugh of Oklahoma City, Okla., Therese Michaely of Vienna, Va., Margaret Christin of Westerville, Ohio, and Kathryn Reiter of South Bend; three sons, John R. of St. Joseph, J. Dennis of Burbank, Calif., and David of San Diego, Calif.; 31 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call one hour before services Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made to Logan.
