OSCEOLA - A.C. Reeves, 78, of Osceola, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008, in his residence with his loving family at his side. A.C. was born on November 6, 1929, in Floral, Arkansas, to Rufus and Mattie (Deloach) Reeves. Both his parents preceded him in death.

 

A.C. married the former Joan Emogene Armstrong in Drasko, Arkansas, on November 22, 1946. A.C. and Emogene shared 61 years of love and commitment to each other. Surviving are his wife, Emogene; and their five children, Gregory (Betty) Reeves of South Bend, Mitchell Reeves of Osceola, Kathy Reeves of South Bend, Mark Reeves of South Bend and Andrew (Cami) Reeves of Middlebury, IN. A.C. was a loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren. A.C. is also survived by two brothers, Oscar Reeves of Floral, Arkansas, and Hasten (Louise) Reeves of Grand Junction, Colorado; and a sister, Ola Jane Phillips of Wolf Bayou, Arkansas. Five brothers, Theodore, Henry, Brad, Nolan, Lee Gran Reeves, and a sister, Vernie May Elems, preceded A.C. in death. A.C. was a carpenter by trade; he was a member of the Carpenters Union #413 and was a gifted man who worked with his hands. A.C. enjoyed hunting. A.C. was a husband, father, grandfather and a great-grandfather who provided for his family with his hard work and dedication. A.C. was a member of the Osceola General Baptist Church.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 12, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. The funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, May 13, in the funeral chapel, with the Rev John Lawson officiating. Burial is to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
