12, 1928 - Sept. 17, 2013MISHAWAKA - James L. Reed, 85, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross in South Bend. James was born on February 12, 1928, in Ripley County, IN, to the late Clifford and Cora "Mildred" (Rousey) Reed. On May 28, 1948, James married Flo Stamper in Union Town, IN. James and Flo were married for 38 years. Flo passed away on Jan. 30, 1986. James was also preceded in death by a sister, Eva Jean Hull, and a son-in-law, Ronald Bilinski, who passed away on September 23, 2012. James is survived by 3 daughters, Sharon Kay (Michael) Sowers, Margaret Sue Bilinski and Jami Lynn Reed, all from Mishawaka, IN. James was a grandfather to 8 grandchildren, Susan (Joe) Lowery, Debra Sowers, Chanele Clevenger, Timothy Sowers, Jolene Cockey, Alana Cockey, Jeffrey (Angela) Cockey and James Cockey. James was also a great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren. James retired as an Electrician/Maintenance in 1990; he worked at Rockwell for 10 years and Mastic for 20 years. James was a fraternity member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, White Shrine and Eastern Star. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Friday, September 20, 2013, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 21st, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Sanctuary of Holy Cross and to the Hospice Foundation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church, 234 W.
