Mishawaka – Mrs. Sarah E. Raymond, 81, of 14399 McKinley Hwy., died at 1:25 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital where she had been a patient for six days.

 

Born in Derby, N.H., on May 4, 1889, she came to Mishawaka from Sommerville, Mass.

 

In 1934. As Sarah McKellar she married Howard A. Raymond in Boston, Mass., on April 18, 1909. He died on Jan. 10, 1967.

 

Surviving are two sons, Ross W. of Mishawaka and Howard A. Jr. of Slyvania, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Martin Honold of Mishawaka; Mrs. William McKechnie of Needham, Mass., and Mrs. Pearl Schalliol of Washington, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Raymond attended the First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Arlington, Mass. Order of Eastern Star.

 

The Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Private funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Raymond, 81, of 14399 E. McKinley Hwy., who died Wednesday morning in St. Joseph Hospital following a six day illness will be held at 2 p.m. today in her residence. Rev. John H. Meengs, PhD., retired pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiated and burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

 

There will be no visitation. A son George F. Raymond died in 1962.
