July 11, 1940 - June 15, 2005

South Bend Tribune 7/6/2005

Attilia "Jean" Ravotto, 64, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2005, from complications following surgery. Jean was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Attilio and Emma (Balbo) Ravotto. She joins her father, who preceded her in death. Jean is survived by her mother, Emma; her sister, Pierina Ravotto, and her sister, Rosemary McNeely (George). Jean is also survived by her beloved nephew, Steven Ravotto (Colleen), and her six greatest joys, her great-nieces and nephews, Vincent, Dominic, Jack, Gabrielle, Joseph and Isabella Ravotto. Jean graduated from St. Joseph High School and Vogue Beauty College. She owned and operated Beauty Inn Hair Salon since 1960. Jean was also a hair stylist at the Milton Home where she lovingly worked with the elderly. Jean was known for her infectious laugh, and her cooking skills, especially her homemade pies. Jean's pies and dishes will be missed at our family gatherings with the Filippone cousins. Jean loved to spend Wednesday with her great-nieces and nephews, cooking for them and bringing them gifts of books. Jean delighted in her daily calls to her best friend, Jackie, and looked forward to her Saturday card games with her sister, Pierina, and friends, Carolyn and Judy.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, in St. Matthew's Cathedral. It is the wish of the family for those who knew Jean to attend the Mass and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph School, 225 S. Mill St., Mishawaka, IN 46544; or to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
