SOUTH BEND - MaBelle Amanda Rantz, 96, of Bloomington, Ind., formerly of South Bend, died Tuesday in Bloomington Convalescent Center. Mrs. Rantz retired from Vogue Beauty School as an instructor. She was born May 31, 1897, in Westville, and lived in South Bend for 60 years.

As MaBelle A. Rogers, she married Wilber Rantz. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a granddaughter, Debra Smolen of Carmel, Calif.; and two nieces, Marilynn D. Baringer of Bloomington and Joan M. Bork of Indianapolis. A son, Roger, and daughter, Phyllis Rantz, preceded her in death. She was a member of National Assocation of Cosmetologists.

Graveside services and burial will be at noon Saturday in Pinhook Cemetery, LaPorte County. Day Mortuary, Bloomington, is handling arrangements.
