Obituary: Maude E. Ransberger

Feb. 18, 1911 -- Dec. 6, 2003

Maude E. Ransberger, 92, of East Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka after an illness.

Maude was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Russellville, Ky., as the daughter of the late James and Liza (Hallman) Gorman. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Ronald, Daniel, and John; four brothers; and by eight sisters.

On Jan. 23, 1932, in Mishawaka, as the former Maude Gorman, she married Cleo E. Ransberger who survives along with two sons, Donald R. (Joan) Ransberger of South Bend, Ind., and Dennis P. (Sandra) Ransberger of Mishawaka; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and by fifteen great-great grandchildren.

Maude was a homemaker and a member of the Community Brethren Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten as her spirit lives on.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 8, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Friends may also call for one hour prior to services on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Gene Eckerly will be officiating and burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
