Everett J. Ransberger

July 20, 1914 - Aug. 6, 1998

MISHAWAKA - Everett J. Ransberger, 84, of West 14th Street passed away after an illness on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 7:45 p.m. in his residence.

Mr. Ransberger was born on July 20, 1914, in Mishawaka, Ind., as the son of the late Lewis and Vinnie (Smith) Ransberger. He was a lifetime area resident.

On July 26, 1947, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, he married the former Anita Giacomini. She preceded him in death on Feb. 17, 1994. He was also preceded in death by three brothers.

Mr. Ransberger is survived by two daughters, Laura Ransberger of South Bend, Ind., and Lynn (Kenneth) Sobecki of Niles, Mich., and their children, Brian, Eric and Justin Sobecki; two sons, Paul (Vickie) Ransberger of Indianapolis and their children, Jason and Jenny Ransberger; Mark (Nancy) Ransberger of Breckenridge, Colo.; and their children, Ashley, Nicole and John Ransberger; a sister, Mary Catherine Wilken of Mishawaka; two brothers, Richard Ransberger of Mishawaka and Charles Ransberger of Avon Park, Fla.

Mr. Ransberger worked for Ransberger Painting and Decorating. He was a World War II Pearl Harbor survivor in the United States Army and a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, in the St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call on Sunday, Aug. 9 from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. Wake prayers will be said at 5 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
