David P. Ransberger

David Patrick Ransberger, 46, of West 7th Street, Mishawaka, passed away after an illness on Thursday, January 12, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

David was born on October 6, 1959, in Mishawaka, as the son of John M. and Elaine (Wells) Ransberger. His father, John M., preceded him in death in 1961.

Surviving David are his mother, Elaine Brallier of Mishawaka; his first wife, Tina Harvey; his current wife, Dena Potter Ransberger; two daughters, Sarah (Marty) Ransberger Bussey and Nicole Ransberger, both of Michigan; four sons, Patrick Ransberger and Lenny Ransberger, both of Mishawaka, and Daniel Ransberger and Dillon Ransberger, both of Michigan; granddaughter, Destiny; a brother, John Ransberger of Mishawaka; and his grandfather, Leonard Wells of Okeechobee, Fla.

David was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed working with his hands. He was a talented guitarist and an avid artist. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all outdoor activities. He was a Mishawaka High School graduate, in the class of 1979, and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Most of all, David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He so much looked forward to spending time with his family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held today, January 15, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, and one hour before services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. M. Greg Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
