Thomas R. Ramirez, 61, of W. Ireland Road, South Bend, died Friday, November 9, 2001, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 11th, 1940, in Chicago, IL, to Gabriel and Irene (Jablonski), both preceding him in death. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Violet Ramirez; and a brother, Gabriel Jr.

He is the former husband of Janice Pierce, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Ann and Kathy Ramirez, both of South Bend; two sons, Harold of Argos, IN., and Wayne (Jennifer) of Mishawaka. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Shane Thomas, Shelby Suzanne, Gabriel Thomas, Brianna Rose, Jacob Andrew, Olivia Marie, Kaitliyn JoAnn and Hannah Michelle Ramirez; one sister, Barbara (Walter) Peulecke of Calumet City, IL; three brothers, Raymond W. (Juanita) Ramirez, Chicago, IL, Richard Ramirez, South Bend, and Al (Ginney) Ramirez of Rochester, IN.

Mr. Ramirez was employed by The City of South Bend Parks Department. He was a Veteran of the Cuban Crisis.

Family and friends may call at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower, South Bend, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12th. Services will be held Tuesday, November 13th, at 1:00 in the funeral home.
