Theresa Radecki (Jan. 17, 1926-Aug. 17, 1996)

SOUTH BEND - Theresa Radecki, 70, of Old Mill Road, passed away at 8:50 p.m., Saturday, in St. Joseph's Medical Center where she was admitted earlier in the day.

Mrs. Radecki was born to Frank and Katherine (Novagodeze) Nagy on Jan. 17, 1926, in Mishawaka, and has remained a lifelong area resident. On Sept. 8, 1951, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend, as Theresa Nagy she married Daniel Radecki, who survives.

Also surviving is a daughter Lynn Radecki of South Bend; a son, Brian Radecki of Granger, Ind.; two grandchildren, Shannon and Emily Radecki, both of Granger; three sisters, Ann Sarka and Kate Grabowski, both of South Bend, and Helen Kuzan of Osceola, Ind.; and two brothers, Mike Radics of Mishawaka and Frank Radics of Sun City, Ariz.

Mrs. Radecki was formerly employed in the office of Standard Oil Company for 10 years and was employed with Raco for 20 years. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and its Senior Citizens Club, Howard Park Senior Citizens, and Bendix Retirees. She also served as a volunteer for St. Joseph County Cancer Society for many years.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, Ind. Rev. Joseph Gaughan officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m., today, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. There will be a parish rosary at 4 p.m., today, in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
